Dearly beloved friends:
I am sending you this engraving which is the forty-fifth emblem of the book Emblematum sacrorum et civilium miscellaneorum ─’Various Sacred and Civil Emblems’─, written by Jacob Bornitz (1560-1625).
The title of this print is…
…OMNIA MERCURIO, SULPHURE ET SALE
─‘All things exist through Mercury, Sulphur and Salt’─

Principium trinum est, quo cuncta creata ligantur: Si dubitas, faciunt haec resoluta fidem.
Translation: ‘Threefold is the principle by which all created things are held together: If you doubt, these things made clear give faith.’
The Venerable Master Samael, the revealer of contemporary Gnosis, forcefully affirms in his various dissertations that the whole Universe itself is the child of the union of these three substances that he calls SALT, SULFUR AND MERCURY. He also tells us that such substances originally constitute what in alchemical terms is called THE ARCHÉ. And he assures us that from this ARCHÉ then arise the various metamorphoses that finally give rise to creation itself.
Words of V.M. Samael Aun Weor, The Fifth Gospel volume III:
“Unquestionably, the first thing we have is raw quicksilver, the sacred sperm. Second, the sexual energy, the result of the transmutation of the sperm. Third, mercury fecundated by sulfur or, in other words, sexual energy already fecundated by the Sacred Fire, a mixture of energy and fire that rises up through the spine to lead us to the intimate Self-Realization of the Being. This third mercury is the “Arché” of the Greeks. So in the Arché there is salt, there is sulphur, there is mercury; that is obvious.
Up there, in the macrocosm, the nebula, for example, is composed of salt, sulfur, mercury. There is Arché, it is the Arché of the Greeks. From there cosmic units emerge. Down here, we need to fabricate the Arché. How? By means of transmutation. And from that Arché, which will be a compound of salt, sulfur and mercury, the Superior Existential Bodies of the Being will be born. […]
In any case, my dear brothers, carrying out the Great Work is the only thing worth living for. Peter, the beloved disciple of our Lord the Christ, has as his gospel the Great Arcanum, the mysteries of sex. That is why Jesus called him Petrus, ‘stone’: “You are rock and on that rock I will build my Church.” Sex is the basic stone, the rough stone, the stone that we must chisel with a chisel and a hammer to transform it into the perfect Cubic Stone. That unchiseled stone – the rough stone itself – is Lucifer. Once chiseled it is our inner Logoi, the “Arché” of the Greeks. The important thing is to chisel it, work with it, elaborate it, give it a perfect cubic shape. […]
Creating such bodies is possible when one knows sexual alchemy thoroughly. The old/ancient medieval alchemists tell us about salt, sulfur and mercury; the Greeks, in their conception of the origin of creation, affirmed that the worlds come from the “Arché”.
The “Arché” of the Greeks – or Archeus, as it is also called– is made up of those three universal substances which are salt, sulfur and mercury. […]
Do we want to have the astral, mental, and causal bodies? Let us fabricate the Arché within ourselves. Does universal intelligence want to create a new solar system? It has to fabricate the Arché up there, in the interplanetary space. “As above, so below.” […]
Obviously, we have to say the way, the manner of fabricating the Arché, because from there we are going to get the Superior Existential Bodies of the Being, the bodies that are going to turn us into real men. It would be worthless to give you all these explanations if I did not teach you how to make the Archeus. You have to know how it is fabricated; otherwise, this talk would be very illustrative, but without a practical application.
Salt, sulfur and mercury: foundations of Arché. What is salt? Jesus the Great Kabir said: “If salt were to degenerate, what would food be seasoned with?” or more or less: “You are the salt of the earth.” But the salt, –he says– is degenerated, it will only serve for the outer darkness, where weeping and gnashing of teeth are heard. […]
When such energy receives the Fire, when it is fed by sulfur, Arché is inevitably created. So the mercury must be fecundated by the sulfur –the Sacred Fire of the Holy Spirit in us–; and the operations of the Fire –of the sulfur– and of the mercury on the salt are splendid, the Exioehary is formed. […]
This is how one comes to possess the Superior Existential Bodies of the Being. But we must first of all form the Arché in us, based on salt, sulfur and mercury; from there, from that Arché, the Superior Existential Bodies of the Being emerge.
Up there, from that Arché, the stars and the worlds spring forth, which shine and palpitate in infinite space, because “as above, so below”; what happens up there in the macrocosm is repeated in the microcosmos. […]
Now, it is well worth understanding all these operations of quicksilver or mercury. To do this, I will make a specific, defined drawing, like a kind of first bottle that I would call the first mercury, that is, quicksilver. Quicksilver equals sperm. But that first bottle, or first recipient, gives rise to a second recipient, which is the second mercury; and the second mercury, in turn, gives rise to a third mercury, which is mercury fecundated by sulfur. That third mercury is the most important one. Because the third mercury is what is called, among the Greeks, the famous “Arché or Archeus“. From that third mercury, which is the Arché, come the Superior Existential Bodies of the Being. […]
What is the nebula? What is the macrocosmic Arché? It is a mixture of salt, sulfur, and mercury. And here too there is salt, sulfur and mercury. Salt is contained in the sacred sperm and is sublimated through transmutations. So in the Arché of the microcosm there is also salt, sulfur and mercury. […]
Master: Down here it has to be the same. If up there, in order for the worlds to emerge, to come into existence, we need the primal matter which is the Arché –a mixture of salt, sulfur and mercury– here below in the microcosm-man we must also elaborate our particular, individual nebula, with salt, sulfur and mercury; and from it, just as the worlds up there [emerge], here the Superior Existential Bodies of the Being emerge. […]
So, then, it is necessary to create the Arché within us. The Arché is salt, sulfur and mercury, both above and below. Once the Arché is created, that Arché comes to crystallize in the bodies. A body is a mixture of salt, sulfur and mercury, both physically, astrally, mentally and causally. That is, then, the matter.
And how is the Arché fabricated? So here comes the question of the bottles: the first mercury, the second mercury, the third mercury. The third mercury is already the Arché; that is what the bodies are made of. […]
Dry mercury and arsenic sulfur must be eliminated so that the Superior Existential Bodies of the Being –created with the Arché of Alchemy– can become vehicles of pure gold of the best quality. […]Normally, the notes DO-RE-MI-FA-SOL-LA-SI vibrate in the sex, but if we pass them on to a higher octave, the Arché comes to crystallize in the astral body. In a higher octave the Arché crystallizes in the mental body, and in a still higher octave in the body of the conscious will. This is how –I repeat– we become Buddhas.
I now attach a few quotations for reflection:
“Do not worry about people who do not know you, but strive to make yourselves worthy of being known.”
Confucius
“Glory is to the old man what diamonds are to old women: they adorn but do not embellish.”
Chateaubriand
“The whole earth is the mausoleum of illustrious men.”
Pericles
“Of all the calvaries in history, there is no greater Calvary than that of glory.”
Campoamor
“Glory follows merit as indefatigably as the shadow follows the body, although it is walking, like the shadow, sometimes ahead, sometimes behind.”
Seneca
GLORIA IN EXCELSIS DEO.
