Very endearing reader companions:
It is with great pleasure that I hasten to send you the present alchemical engraving entitled:
ABSCONDITORUM A CONSTITUTIONES MUNDI CLAVIS
─‘The key to hidden things’─
This engraving has a very profound significance for the scholars of Kabbalah and Alchemy, and, obviously, since we by means of Gnosis are scholars of these two sciences, it is clear that all this subject matter concerns us.
It is interesting to know that the most complete title of the book is Absconditorum a constitutione mundi clavis; quae mens humana tam in divinis, quam in humanis pertinget ad interiora velaminis aeternae veritatis, ‘The key to hidden things, by which the human mind, both in divine and human things, will reach the innermost parts of the veil of eternal truth.'
Guillaume Postel (1510-1581) was a French linguist, astronomer, Kabbalist, diplomat and famous scholar in the 16th century. Because of his knowledge that covered various disciplines, he was considered a polymath. Postel knew Arabic, Hebrew, Syriac and other Semitic languages, but he also knew the classical languages ─Greek and Latin─, which allowed him his vast textual investigations. He also edited or translated various manuscripts, made Latin versions of the Zohar printed in 1552, of the Sefer Yetzirah and the Sefer Ha Bahir, fundamental works of the Jewish Kabbalah.
To begin our inquiries, we will say that the engraving is constituted by a key impregnated with phrases written in Latin, which becomes the key to our alchemical studies. This key, patient reader, is none other than THE MASTER KEY or ARCANUM A.Z.F. which, certainly, is the very key to our redemption and the only one that can erase from us the ORIGINAL SIN.
This wonderful key, as we have already said, is inscribed with a series of enigmatic phrases, all of them related to passages from the Holy Scriptures or from the Kabbalah in general.
Let us begin the study, then, of our engraving, let us see:
At the top we read: INTELLIGENTIBUS, ‘to those who understand'. These teachings are for the few who open their intelligence to the divine mysteries.
The outer circle tells us: Qui potest capere, capiat. Intellectus judicet VERITATEM, ‘He who can understand it, let him understand it. Let the intellect judge the truth.' In other words: whoever has ears may he hear, whoever has understanding may he understand.
Within the circle: Pulsate et aperietur vobis, ‘Knock and it will be opened to you' ─Matthew 7:7─; and ROTA, ‘Wheel': may whoever is interested knock on the door until it is opened.
Further inside we find the word HOMO ─'man'─. It is necessary to create man here and now.
Then follows a square with two letters at each of its corners that seems to spell: HR-IS-IV-SC, A CIRCLE WITH THE LETTERS N-S-E, and a triangle ─or the horizontal projection of a triangular pyramid─ and the letters P = Father; F = Filius, ‘Son'; and S = Holy Spirit. This pyramid or triangle is there to symbolize the three primary forces of creation. That means that everything sprang from them and everything returns to them.
On the body of the key is written: Exi ut Introeas, ‘Exit ─from the verb to go out─ so that you can enter'. In the practice of the Arcanum A.Z.F. you go in and out to increase or decrease the alchemical fires.
At the bottom of the key it reads: DEUS HOMO ROTA, ‘God man wheel'. Certainly, man is locked in the Wheel of Samsara and it is up to him to free himself from it.
The text at the bottom of the page is from Luke 11:52:
«VAE vobis, legis peritis, quia tulistis CLAVEM SCIENTIAE: ipsi non introistis, et introeuntes prohibuistis».
‘Woe to you, you interpreters of the law, ─the learned─ for you have taken away the key of knowledge! You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering!'
On the left side appear the numbers 1 2 3, a triangle, Per, a square and the numbers 3 2 1. The numbers 1, 2, 3, represent the three forces of creation. The other numbers: 3, 2, 1, allegorize the creation of the solar bodies in man.

Searching for the meaning of Eliakim ─son of Helk I H V or Hilkiah─, we have found these explanations:
Eliakim is a theophoric name of Hebrew origin that has a rich history and a profound meaning. Breaking down the word, we find two main parts: El ─אֵל─, which means ‘God', and yakim ─יָקִים─, derived from the verb qum ─קוּם─, which means ‘to raise', ‘to establish' or ‘to resurrect'. Therefore, the complete meaning of Eliakim is generally interpreted as ‘God raises up', ‘God will establish' or ‘God will resurrect'.
The name Hilkiah —Helk I H V— literally means ‘portion of Jehovah.'
Angelo Phila Delphiae, Ap. 3:7 ─Revelation 3:7─, the message to Philadelphia:
“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These things says He who is Holy, He who is True, He who holds the key of David. He who opens no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens…”
At this point I attach some sentences to be reflected:
“Let there be hope for what is desired, and with that, let us endure whatever will happen.”
Quevedo
“Hope is the only good common to all men, those who have lost everything still possess it.”
Thales of Miletus
“Hope is the dream of the awakened man.”
Aristotle
“Let us not deny anything, let us not affirm anything.”
Schopenhauer
“Good hope is better than vile possession.”
Cervantes
