Very endearing reader friends:

I hasten to send you the present engraving entitled…

NATURA CONSPICE SORTEM
─‘Observe the fate of Nature’─

This engraving was made by Guillaume de la Perrière (1499-1554), a French humanist and writer. This engraving appears in his book entitled LA MOROSOPHIE. Dictionaries define morosophy as a psychological disorder characterized by a wise and calm behavior on the surface but disordered deep down.

"Natura conspice sortem" (Observe the fate of Nature), La morosophie, Guillaume de la Perrière

This Latin phrase tells us:

«Quae modo mater erat, formam capit illa novercae,
Et quos lacte aluit, conficit illa flagris:
Quisquis ades, miseram Naturae conspice sortem,
Distinguit quam, vix ortus ab interitu».

The translation of it is as follows: ‘She who was like a Mother takes the form of a Stepmother, those whom she fed with milk she kills with whips. Whoever approaches observes the miserable fate of Nature, which at birth hardly differs from death.’

Mysteriously, this engraving illustrates to all of us those two aspects of God Mother that our V.M. Samael Aun Weor comments abundantly in his works.

In these comments our Patriarch reveals to us those various characteristics that the Eternal One contains within His feminine manifestation. This is how we know, within contemporary Gnosis, that She, Stella Maris, in fact has five unfoldments, namely:

  • Cosmic Mother ─NUT of the ancient Egyptians─, author of our Universe or cosmic womb.
  • Mother Nature, the creator of Nature and its kingdoms.
  • Mother Kundalini, our particular inner dear Virgin in each one of us, Stella Maris.
  • Elemental Mage, the one who provides us with our instincts, the one who instructs us about Elemental Magic.
  • Mother Death, the one who determines our final destiny and the one who helps us in the death of the animal Ego when we implore Her in our alchemical works. Likewise, it is She who accompanies us when we are sent to the Second Death, that is, when our animic evolution has failed and we are therefore sent to the submerged involution of the atomic hells of Nature.

It is clear, dear friends, that it is Devi-Kundalini who gestates in her womb our earthly physiognomy, and she does so with deep love and tenderness. She, through our earthly physical mother, nurses us and makes us grow in the terrain of existence. She educates us, guides us; in other words, She takes on her shoulders the task of presenting us as adult beings before the stage of Nature.

However, thanks to Gnosis today we know that the divine Eternal Feminine has several faces and one of them is Her relationship with death itself.

That is the reason why we in our engraving see a dual woman who on the one hand is giving her maternal nectar to three children and on the other hand is whipping with a whip and a bundle of twigs those three children or infants who have become adults……

We have to understand that Our Divine Lady follows our behavior very closely, and once we have reached adolescence She clearly sees that our psychological aggregates constantly invade us. That is where we begin to abandon our childhood definitively to begin to fatten our abominable egoic psychology. Since the ethics of our blessed Kundalini Mother is at odds with the disorder that pleases our ANIMAL EGO, She then begins to allow the Lords of Karma to apply their correctives to our existence, and in this way we begin to live among diseases, moral blows, miseries, uncertainties, vices, betrayals, etc., etc., etc.

On the other hand, Stella Maris knows perfectly well what our karmic debts are that we drag from past existences, and if our bag of expletives is already overflowing, then She also gives permission to the executioners of karma so that we can be whipped in various ways. In this way, that childhood that we had lived before vanishes completely until we are turned into extravagant rags that serve as filler for the decomposed society that we all make up today.

One of our ceremonials speaks to us of these things in the following way, referring to the forgiveness that She, Devi-Kundalini, has granted us many times, let us see:

Much have I forgiven the sinner. Sometimes he has been judged by the Judge of Celestial Justice, but I have forgiven him. There have been moments when I have gone away from the Tribunals to not be trampled by the Lords of the Law of Katancia. The sinful son makes me suffer too much.”

“LOVE IS LAW, BUT CONSCIOUS LOVE,” the Gnosis of all times warns us. The love of our Divine Lady is not complacent with crime. True CONSCIOUS LOVE is accompanied by RIGOR, and when we, the rational humanoids, violate the superior law, then we are punished by the Law of Katancia –the superior Law–.

Another maxim of our Gnostic teachings warns us: “The faithful son loves his Mother. The unfaithful son forgets his Mother, goes astray and falls into error…” This is the law for all mortals. Law is law and the law is fulfilled.

I now add a few phrases for your reflection:

“The law is the conscience of humanity.”
Concepción Arenal

“Laws retain their credibility, not because they are just, but because they are laws.”
Montaigne

“Where the law ends, tyranny begins.”
Chatam

“What the laws do not prevent, honesty can prevent.”
Seneca

“Laws are the sovereigns of sovereigns.”
Luis XIII
