The millstone refers to the Philosopher’s Stone, this is the reason why it is close to the nearby fountain.

A translation of the Old German text: ‘This is certainly a great honour, but nowadays it is not held in much respect. Where there are many very cultured people, and where the liberal arts are practiced with finesse’.

Latin words and their translation:

Gloria vera haec est; sed nostro spernitur aevo; Aret ubi Clarius, Phocidas unda, latex.

‘This is true glory, but in our time it is despised. The running water, the liquid is consumed where Clarius ─Apollo─, the Phocidus is’.

Here it is necessary to explain two things:

The first is that the word Phocid does not exist. It could also be phocids, but it is a tree, a type of pear tree, which has no relation to the text. Although grammatically not correct, the only logical thing is that it refers to the region of Phocis, where the sanctuary of Delphi, consecrated to Apollo, was located. Clarius is an attribute of Apollo, who was venerated in a city of the Ionia. Two of the largest Apollonian shrines of the ancient world are then referenced.

The second thing to note is that the word latex means many things: water, wine, oil, milk, any beverage, or liquid in general. It is clear that it refers to the mercurial liquid.

The verb areo means ‘to consume oneself’, ‘to become arid’, ‘to dry up’. When our Mercury crystallizes in our occult anatomy, then our internal vehicles are fabricated.

Therefore, the general sense is that Mercury is consumed, dried up to where the cult of the god Apollo, symbol of the Christ, is found, because once the PHILOSOPHICAL STONE is fabricated we will be very close to the intimate Christ and, therefore, very likely our transmutatory work will be relegated into the background. This is the sign according to which the knowledge of the Hermetic art was already despised, unfortunately, even where the wisest people should be found, which is in full agreement with the Old German phrase. The scholarship of our day is associated with vain and insipid intellectualism in relation to the things of the Spirit.

This engraving introduces us to an interesting reflection, and that is that if already in those times ─in the 1500s, 1600s and 1700s─ everything related to TRANSMUTATORY ART was despised by the multitudes and people were beginning to only be interested in intellectual erudition, then it is only normal that in our days this contempt has been accentuated even more in our society. Hence, the White Brotherhood currently considers that the humanoid species no longer deserves to have the doors of liberation opened to it.

I give you a few quotations for your reflection:

“He who trusts never tires.”
Quevedo

“Belief consists in accepting the affirmations of the soul; unbelief, in denying them.”
Emerson

“There is no wise person without faith.”
Tertullian

“Leave what follows to the Gods.”
Horace

“Men are capable of working miracles when they have faith.”
Carlyle

GLADIUS DEI.
─‘The Sword of God’─.

KWEN KHAN KHU

The central figure is an old man, a scholar or artist, walking and carrying on his back a huge basket full of instruments and tools: a compass, a square, a ruler, an ancient astronomical instrument that resembles a cross and that is used to calculate the distance between two celestial bodies, a globe of the Earth, etc. etc.

[476,161,466
571,1041,1467,1607,1662,1716
271
49
[322
post-45021","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-universal-symbols","category-alchemy","category-messages-vm-kwen-khan-khu","tag-alquimia-en","tag-grabados-en","tag-mercurio","tag-hermetismo","tag-apolo","tag-daniel-meisner","contenido-articles-en","fuente-maestro","author_tax-v-m-kwen-khan-khu-en
["GET
